Casey Affleck Shines in Zach Bryan's 'Oak Island' Video
Zach Bryan has released his much-anticipated music video for "Oak Island," from his album The Great American Bar Scene. The video was written by Bryan and his longtime girlfriend, Brianna LaPaglia. Similar to the music video/short film "Nine Ball," it was shot and directed by Matthew Dillon Cohen.
"Oak Island" follows Casey Affleck as the hardworking, well-intentioned protagonist living with his sick mother. Affleck sets out to "save" his younger brother, played by Jack Martin. However, he soon discovers that his brother is no longer who he thought he was and requires a different kind of saving.
The music video is visually stunning, and even with minimal dialogue, Casey Affleck perfectly portrays a protective and caring older brother. The song is one of Bryan’s more narrative-driven tracks on The Great American Bar Scene, and the concept lends itself well to a music video.
