Wimbledon Semi Final Picks

It's Friday in London with some familiar faces. Djokovic and Alcaraz and a couple of blokes who have never got this far on the grass. So how are we betting the matches that will set up the match? The re-match. Alcaraz and Djokovic are heavy favorites to advance, but how will they do it? Well, let me break it down.

First match, I am targeting a total. The line is set at 38.5. Alcaraz has been on relative cruise control and only tripped up early when it looked like he was sleepwalking. He should be ready, but so will his opponent.

Medvedev has been on a tear this tournament and, as the world's number 5, the Ruski has been playing his style of defensive tennis. He has a 41.7 games played average (with a walkover). He is a grinder who wins rallies.

Meanwhile, Carlos has looked like the defending Champion with a 38.2 game average, dropping his only four sets in the last three matches on the back of his aggressive style. And, since styles make fights, I see this match-up as strength on strength, and I am taking Over the 38.5.

I am looking at the Djokovic v. Musetti match a little differently. The GOAT is just three weeks off a torn meniscus, and while he does not look 100%, this week he got an extra two days' rest after Wednesday's walkover.

Meanwhile, Musetti pulled out a 46-game upset against Taylor Fritz. Musetti's big win Wednesday should not be overlooked, but that cute one-handed backhand is no match for even an 80% Djokovic.

You couple that with Joker's ire after being booed during his Rune match, and I am taking Djokovic -6.5. I think he will be up for the match and win in straight sets with one of them being a blowout.

Should be a good one that sets up a re-match of last year's final.

The Picks: Alcaraz/Medvedev Over 38.5 Djokovic -6.5
